This is the greatest club football competition in the world! The group stage draw is now set, and as usual there are some juicy match-ups. This year’s draw holds two very anticipated ones.
Inter Milan and defending champion FC Barcelona will clash in a battle of top teams who traded star forwards this summer as Samuel Eto’o and Zlatan Ibrahimovic pay visits to their old stomping grounds.
Real Madrid was bound to have one of its blockbuster summer signings face a former club and Kaka was the lucky player as he and the Galacticos will meet AC Milan in the group stage.
Here’s how the draw came out:
GROUP A – Bayern Munich, Juventus, Bordeaux, Maccabi Haifa
GROUP B – Manchester United, CSKA Moscow, Besiktas, VFL Wolfsburg
GROUP C – AC Milan, Real Madrid, Marseille, FC Zurich
GROUP D – Chelsea, Porto, Atletico Madrid, APOEL (Cyprus)
GROUP E – Liverpool, Lyon, Fiorentina, Debreceni (Hungary)
GROUP F – Barcelona, Inter Milan, Dynamo Kiev, Rubin Kazan (Russia)
GROUP G – Sevilla, Rangers, VFB Stuttgart, Uniera Urziceni (Romania)
GROUP H – Arsenal, AZ Alkamaar, Olympiakos, Standard Liege
As the game dates approach, we’ll have some in depth analysis of match-ups. For now, who do you think will take it all?
